FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A REVISED HR-1442/SR-856 that GHC could support

As we have noted earlier, GHC is opposed to HR 1442 in its current form for the reasons stated. That noted, however, we are not opposed to 100% of the concepts expressed within HR-1442/SR-856. GHC would support HR-1442/SR-856 ONLY if it addressed more substantial issues as shown in the amended version below.

Our support for the AMENDED HR-1442/SR-856 should NOT in any way be construed as supporting "political cover" for turncoats. Our position on the Fair Vote Bill remains unchanged; a FAIR VOTE remains the ONLY way to resolve the state flag issue for Georgia. Those who opposed or obstructed our Fair Vote bill will be targeted for political defeat. Those who oppose a Fair Vote in the future will be targeted for defeat and removal. HR-1442/SR-856 will NOT change anything in that regard.

Legislators should consider their support for HR-1442/SR-856 accordingly. Approve an amended HR-1442/SR-856 on the merits if you will, but no action on this resolution will save you from the wrath of voters deprived of a Fair Vote by your action or dereliction.

Georgia Heritage Coalition was not consulted or even notified of the original HR 1442 prior to its introduction. Our coalition represents the combined leadership of all but one of the heritage organizations in Georgia. Nonetheless, rather than taking a negative position, we would be pleased to meet with the sponsors of the resolutions in hopes of improving their acceptance by a majority of Georgians.

It's now up to the HR-1442 & SR-856 sponsors and supporters to demonstrate that they want the goodwill of Georgia's true heritage community. Make no mistake, passing HR-1442 or SR-856 in its current form will be regarded as adding further insult to the injury of the rigged referendum hoax.

Steering Committee,
Georgia Heritage Coalition

(formerly Silver Dollar City)----on a year-round basis in honor of Georgia's heroic veterans.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives shall be directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution widely available as appropriate to encourage and promote the observation of April as Confederate History and Heritage Month.
