FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GHC Condemns Attack Ads and Smears on Senate Candidate Nancy Schaefer, by J. A. Davis
It has come to my attention that radio commercials are being run at the
very last minute in the Runoff Election in State Senate District 50 which not
only are untrue but represent a desperate attempt to change the outcome of
the election.
I refer specifically to commercials which
attack personally one of the candidates,
Nancy Schaefer. No person or persons identify themselves as the source
or take responsibility for this sleazy attempt to
smear both the public record and the patriotism of Mrs. Schaefer.
As a former Georgia state chairman of the
Republican Campaign Committee who genuinely cares about the healthy
development of two party politics in Georgia, I personally find this
smear campaign reprehensible.
This is not something Republicans do
under the 11th Commandment so well developed by President Reagan. It is more like the
devious stunts pulled by left wing liberals who attempt to distort the truth in hopes of influencing elections in
favor of their own leftist ambitions.
It is particularly disturbing to me that this
nameless and shameful group of people would attack both Mrs. Schaefer
and the League of the South as somehow being a hate group. This is straight out of the widely discredited
Southern
Poverty Law Center whose main mission is to destroy our Constitutional Republic.
This [the SPLC] is the
organization that wants all religious symbols removed from public view.
They oppose prayer in schools. This is the organization that is pushing for open borders and increased illegal
immigration throughout America. The Southern Poverty Law Center is the main
litigant in the effort to remove The Ten Commandments from all public view. It
is the same organization that is pushing for the legalization of
homosexual marriages. In short, the Southern Poverty Law Center and those who
parrot its propaganda have nothing to do with poverty. They are
a danger to a government of laws and advocate a secular and leftist government of men.
The Georgia Heritage Coalition is compelled to speak out on behalf of members of
over a dozen patriotic, heritage, religious and veterans organizations whose
members individually make up our ranks. We have proudly endorsed the
election of Nancy Schaefer who exemplifies the liberties we so faithfully follow.
