FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GHC Pistol Raffle Winner Announced, by J. A. Davis
The awarding of the 1858 .44 caliber Army Revolver took place on
schedule (President Davis' Birthday) at the Georgia Heritage Coalition.
The winner is:
George McMath
Gainesville, Georgia
George purchased more than 100 tickets of the almost 1,000 sold through the Viet Nam Veterans
who participated with GHC in the contest.
As Commander of Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 1418 in Cleveland,
Georgia, George has pledged to donate the pistol to his SCV camp so they may hold another raffle for it.
The pistol was donated to GHC by Greg Hanson of Minnesota. His
generosity will continue as another heritage organization will have the benefit of his original gift, and more money
will be raised for the good of Confederate and Southern heritage.
The Georgia Heritage Coalition appreciates the contributions of all who
who participated with us in this project. In all around 1,000 tickets
were issued. We intend to do a similar program beginning in November of
this year and continuing to Jefferson Davis' birthday celebration in
Gainesville, next June.
Thanks again for all those who helped us
sell tickets. You made a difference.
