GEORGIA COURT OF APPEALS
The Georgia Heritage Coalition Supports
Debra Bernes, Georgia Court of Appeals: Mrs. Bernes has a record of public service as a Cobb County
prosecutor in the District Attorney’s office and as an attorney in Private practice. Her record indicates she will make a fine judge and serve the
people of Georgia well. Vote for Debra Bernes. bernesforcourtofappeals.com/
Her opponent, Howard Mead, has received more than $2,697,695 in this campaign without telling us anything about himself,
his family, or where he went to college. We don’t know how long Mead’s been in Georgia, nor where he came from. But we know Howard Mead went to
Harvard. He served as an adviser to Governor Roy Barnes, too.
Howard Mead must be wealthy: he has loaned his campaign at least $2,390,000 (according to campaign reports in the
Secretary of State’s office filed from June through Oct. 25, of this year), which can be repaid to him by corporate fatcats and special interests if
he gets elected.
He hasn’t told us much, but we know enough about Howard Mead to know he is not the right person to sit on the Georgia
Court of Appeals.
Though we often disagree with The Macon Telegraph, their editorial provides an interesting synopsis on the Court of Appeals race.
