Political Parties Ignore Immigration Problems – Commentary by Carl Sears

Considering there are few in any given district who keep up with how politicians vote and the like, it's not surprising we are losing so much of our American and Southern heritage to "outsiders". I doubt there are 10 people in our district who know all of, how, or what our legislators vote on. I know I surely don't.
I have to give a thumbs up for State Rep. Mike Boggs. He has a website ( http://www.repmikeboggs.com/) that is an absolute treasure trove of governmental links and other information. Although, while cruising there recently, I was taken aback by a link on the left side of the page that read "Fund State Pork." Knowing this to be blatant voter blasphemy, I realized this had to be a mistake. So, I squinted a bit and moved my eyes closer to the screen. Thank goodness it really read "Find a State Park."
The last time we bumped into each other was at Haywood Baptist Church. He looks pretty healthy so I don't know why he was there. I went for the free food myself, which was delicious by the way. It was a wildlife dinner and the church gave away prizes!
Charlie Brown has always been my hero. I can't get a kite off the ground much less into the tentacles of a kite-eating tree. Who knows? Mike may have won a rock, but I finally out did Charlie. I won a screwdriver from Coley Electric. It was a late blessing considering I had recently broken the tip off my favorite pocket knife unscrewing a light bulb. My son (that lucky pup) won some dry dog food so we all ate like kings for a few days around here. The hogs and chickens that randomly wander our dining area were scratching and rooting about the table so, of course, we shared. Ah, to be unreconstructed and unenlightened in south Georgia.
I know I may have upset the local atheist club and tree-hugger brigade with this news. But, rest assured, no woodpeckers were sacrificed for the feast we partook. We are going to miss our Representative but we will be gaining a great judge. Maybe one day Judge Boggs will sit on the Georgia Supreme Court or higher.
As I was saying, few know what politicians are up to or what paths they will take us after being elected. We have America's first "Mexican" President, George W. Bush, with his disgusting immigration policy regarding illegal aliens. We have our very own first "Mexican" Senator from Georgia, Saxby Chambliss, who has chosen to support that stance and be a lackey for the National Republican Party instead of the Georgians who elected him. This stance from Saxby reminds me of a time when Georgia was ruled by Governors placed by the King of England. Sen. Saxby Chambliss needs to understand that such a stance is divisive and a giant step backwards. We are not in England anymore "Sir" Chambliss, nor will Georgia be ruled by a national "sell out" political party.
Not to be outdone by the lunacy of the above Republicans, right across the county line we have Rep. Chuck Simms (D), a member of our state legislature. I wonder how many of his constituents are aware that Rep. Simms helped introduce legislation that would allow illegal immigrants a drivers license in this state? It's true. Just look at HB 1309 and you will find this little gym cleverly "hidden".
Outside Atlanta and perhaps Dalton, I don't think this is a real popular stance for any politician; and particularly in south Georgia. Unlike Rep. Boggs, Rep. Simms does not have a website to pull such treasures from. But here is one loaded with the costs of immigration to taxpayers and American workers( http://www.spofga.org/immigration/current/the_index.phtml). I am unsure about ringing phones, but if anger could wake the deceased and you read some of this material aloud at Rep Simms constituents' services crib, it would soon be a zombie infested mortuary.
If you doubt the above is true, you can contact Rep. Chuck Simms at 912-384-7138 at home, or 912-384-1234 at "work" ... but remember, he runs his constituency services from his business - Simms Funeral Home. So, if you get no answer, it's probably not that he is ignoring you. It's most likely he has the ringer turned off so as not to wake the dead.
I am sure by now that the GOP has caught wind of this democrat trying to also pander to illegal immigrants. Don't be surprised when the GOP comes back with another silly proposal while they are out vote hunting. Something along the lines as HB-2006...free keys for car thieves sounds about right. The DNC will respond with a voucher for a free tank of "el petrol". Sickening.
Now, don't get me wrong. I certainly am opposed to the "multiculturalism" myth that politicians love to spout. If you move here, you adopt to the culture that is here...not the other way around. If that makes me a "bigot" to liberals or "religious nuts" posing as conservatives, so be it. Those that didn't come here the right way need to be deported.
In fact, it is my understanding that all of my immigrant ancestors came here the right way. A few were even drug screaming from the King's dungeons, placed aboard a ship, and cast overboard a few hundred yards from the American shoreline. "Swim or die", rang loudly in waterlogged ears. I am living proof we Sears' are excellent swimmers.
Y'all have a Dixie day!
