SPLC slanders Macon State professor – Commentary by Steve Scroggins
First let me say that I don't know the subject of this story; I've never met him.
In a story published October 31st in The Macon Telegraph, the Southern Poverty Law Center was quoted as the source to say that a Macon
State teacher was formerly a leader of the "Knights of the KKK" in Billings, Montana.
As it turns out, that statement was NOT TRUE....as is MOST of what the SPLC publishes in their UNintelligence reports. The Macon Telegraph
published a "correction" in its November 2nd edition. See the text below.

Due to incorrect information supplied to the Telegraph by the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., a story in Sunday's Telegraph contained incorrect information about former Macon State professor Roger Roots. He was not affiliated with the Knights of the KKK in Montana.

The point you ask?
It's simple. WHY do newspapers and news organizations continue to seek ANYTHING, much less facts, from the SPLC?
Any objective look at the information they publish reveals it as a joke, a transparent hoax passed off on dupes and conspiracy mongers.
Why can't the media see it?
Because they don't want to see it? Because they find a "source" that's just too convenient and which leans the way they want stories to lean?
I've said if before (in my March 29th column) and I'll say it again: What the SPLC does is unconscionable whether it's assassinating the character of left-leaning environmental activists (e.g., Sierra Club) or heritage groups like the Sons of Confederate Veterans and United Daughters of the Confederacy.
The SPLC, self-described hate group trackers and watchdogs, have become corporate hitmen. If you need to discredit someone, why not just label them as racists?
If you want to label someone a racist, who do you call in? The SPLC, of course.
The SPLC's reputation continues to be that of assassins who specialize in "hits" using the "Racist" label. Like the so-called "civil rights" groups
that spend all their time harping about Confederate flags while ignoring REAL social problems here in America and REAL slavery in Africa, the SPLC has ourlived its usefulness if it ever really had one. They
have to make up stats and "profiles" for bogey-men with which to scare the populace and keep the dollars rolling in.
These folks are not Liars in the Bill Clinton sense or lying to cover their vices, these folks are lying for money and assassinating the character of
real people who don't deserve to be slaughtered in such a vicious and reprehensible manner. The 9th Commandment speaks directly to lies that hurt others. How long before people of honor in the media say "enough?"
