Obama's Fireproof Pants – Commentary by Jim Dean, 10/20/2009
"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both
commonly succeed, and are right." --H.L. Mencken
"Enlightened statesmen will not always be at the helm." --James Madison
Dear Folks,
Today I am following up on Jeff Davis' recent state of the union column,
Tsunami of Corruption & Economic Ignorance.
And Dr. Virgina Abernethy of Vanderbuilt University up in Nashville, a long time American heritage activist, sent along this wonderful
Obama video clip that is just a gem.
We're all familiar with the school-yard taunt, Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire! Watching the video very closely, I never saw
any evidence of smoke or flames from behind the lecturn.
Seven Lies in Under Two Minutes
I tried my best to give President Obama the benefit of the doubt, but I knew that actions, (or non-actions) would speak louder
than words. What spooked me most was that his top advisers were all people with long and successful careers in public manipulation.
I suspected that he had chosen them for those talents...and I feel time is proving me right. There is nothing to win by being
right on this. We all will be losing, and paying.
Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel is the son of a proud and unrepentent Irgun Zionist terrorist who helped murder British Tommies
in Palestine while General Montogomery was fighting his way into Germany to free concentration camp Jews. David Axlerod,
also Jewish, was one of the inventors of the term 'astroturf' where phony public support is exagerated or created out of
thin air. Both were on the Sunday morning talk shows telling us that Fox News is not really a news organization. I wonder
if they have called Fox owner Rupert Murdoch, also Jewish, to bring this oversight to his attention.
Obama's numerous czars are a story within themselves. I'll cover them in a future column in the near future.
American presidents have been front men to a large degree for some time now. It varies among administrations
of course, and a lot of folks hate to admit it. Even Reagan chose the route of the pitch man, and left most of the running of
the presidency to his staff. This is not all negative as it did free him to work on some key things like bluffing the Russians
out with Star Wars by collapsing them financially. The roles have reversed now and we have pointed that gun at our own head.
Bush was so insecure that he brought in his Dad's old team to run the show for him. The insiders' books that have been
written reveal time and again his inability to understand major issues that faced him, including what his administration was even
proposing to him. Much of it was just over his head.
I don't think any of it is over Obama's head. Stupid and confused he is not. An agenda, he certainly does have, and we all will
be finding out in spades what it really is. As you watch the video, remember that this is less than two minutes worth. Did he
really mean this
when he said it, or were these items that his manipulation crew had crafted for him as vote-getting levers to press? These are old
political tactics of course, but never really pitched before under a reforming the system umbrella. But this is what
good manipulators do.
"Of those men who have overturned the liberties of republics, the greatest number have begun their career by paying an
obsequious court to the people, commencing demagogues and ending tyrants." --Alexander Hamilton as Publius,
Federalist No. 1
What is looking like a very interesting social anomally is that as his real agenda becomes evident he will continue to be
given a free pass in terms of accountabilty. The mass media has broken all previous lap dog records, so we have been abandoned
by our fouth estate. The march through our institutions appears to be entering the advanced stages. We all need to beware.
America as we have known it...is in play.
"The country is filled with people who have been clueless about the economy for years. In fact, it’s worse: the country is
being run by such people. There are few things you can be certain of these days. But one of them is that whatever
Washington does with regard to the economy, it will be the exact opposite of what anyone with any sense would do."
--Thomas E. Woods, Jr., Feb. 27, 2009
"In our country we have one group that believes you can print wealth into existence, another that tries to spend it into
existence, and a third (and by far the largest) group that believes in both. This is a philosophy fit only for children and
ignoramuses, and the editorial page of the New York Times – or perhaps I repeat myself. Then there’s the fourth group: the
grownups, who understand that wealth is created through saving, investment, and entrepreneurial skill; that wealth has to
be produced before it can be consumed; and that lending is impossible in the absence of prior saving."
--Thomas E. Woods, Jr., from a Liberty Forum speech,
