America Needs a Surge at Home – Commentary by Jim Dean
Dear Folks,
The growing drug war and human smuggling threat on the Mexican border seems
to finally be peeking its head out from beneath the rug where our government has swept it. The issue has been
discussed in Intelligence circles for years now.
Our government has publicized intense concern over allies like Iraq,
Afghanistan and even Pakistan having their governments or large areas of their countries falling under control
of 'insurgents.' But back home we have an intense insurgency war going on right across the border in Mexico.
The drug dealers and kidnappers have taken on the government in an insurgency war delivering up a body
count on a scale similar to the approved War on Terror (W.O.T.) designated hotspots. While we ridicule third
world allies for 'not doing more' to stop smuggling across their borders where the terrain problems are
just horrible we give ourselves and Mexico a free pass.
Who wins the American-killing contest? Mexico and the MS-13 gang
members by far. Their body count far surpasses our KIAs in Iraq last year. But our response to this
ongoing slaughter is a national disgrace, and there is a lot of blame to go around. Greed is the underlying
problem, something we share with the drug dealers. Put a pile of money on the table and people's concerns
and morals become 'flexible.'
We have a comparatively flat and open southern border to
protect. The Pakistanis would consider it a piece of cake to defend. But we won't defend it. We pretend
to defend it, a little bit. And the public only cares a little bit, also. As long as no one in their
family ends up in the morgue or needing reconstructive surgery from having their face beat in there is
no sustained public concern over this serious threat to our security.
We insist that the Pakis do more to fight Al Qaeda and the Taliban
in their frontier areas. They do a little bit as that allows them to steal huge amounts of military
support from us for which they make no accounting. But they have no real interest in really solving
the problem because several other agendas are at play, major internal political ones like who controls
the country. Pakistani elites have manipulated this problem for years now as a tool to maintain control
over a country that is a financial basket case where the military sucks up huge resources. You have to
keep people in fear and really play the divide and conquer game well to stay in the game.
"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety)
by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."
--H.L. Mencken
Back home in America we have the same kind of people. If they
have 'tribal/ethnic affiliations' that are important to them, or a way to line their own pockets, then what
is in the country's best interest can go straight to hell in a hand basket. The Hispanic so-called civil
rights groups have long supported the Mexican insurgency here and the Democratic party has run
interference for them. The Repubs, Bill Gates and the Chamber of Commerce have had their business
tribal constituencies that they have run interference for.
In Afghanistan our forces are not allowed to interdict opium
shipments. One report that got public had a whole convoy slowly rolling by an Amerian officer's base
position early one morning and he just had to watch. Why? Because our policy was not to interfere
with the drug smugglers as that would expose our troops to more casualities in fighting them. The
Afghan central government might have made a deal with the local war lord to fight Al Qaeda and they
would let him fund doing it through drug dealing, and guarantee our troops would not interfere.
The immigration insurgency has been protected by a perfect storm
of American tribal interests, crooked politicians, corrupt businessmen, police and mayors who provide
protection to illegals, and security people who prefer to collect their paychecks without having to
do the heavy lifting. But what they will join hands instantly to fight to the last bullet is anyone
demanding that they protect our borders in these dangerous times. Bogus racism charges are the most
common tool used to initimidate people here.
What the Taliban needs in Pakistan is some good representation
from American unions, the American Chamber of Commerce, the Dem and Repub parties, about how they can
spin the W.O.T. as actually a hate crime against the Taliban, totally racist-motivated. The
Washington lobbyists can help them point out how the opium, arm sales and insurgent training that
goes on in the Pakistani frontiers is a vital part of the economy.
Most Americans know nothing of our selective concern over supporting
terrorism. Bush was Fox's buddy and worked as hard as he could to see to in that the immigration insurgency
became permanent. Why? Well, besides being stupid on economics, which he is...literally clueless, he had
strong tribal affiliations with the business community. The only god they all worship is that America's
future economy is doomed if the population does not keep rising at a good clip? Why? Because that is what
they see as the only real economic engine for driving up paper profits in the make believe financial
world we live in.
American and international elites have been working on this
immigration insurgency for years. The Bilderberger Group folks have had a long term plan for decades
to make all of the Americas a single common market, from the tip of Argentina to the North Pole. Anyone
could move to and work anywhere in the region. Why? Because the elites felt then needed a permanent
and secure access to a good supply of cheap slave labor to compete with growing Eastern economic
powerhouses like China, India and Indonesia who have huge supplies of cheap slave labor.
We here at GHC saw this coming years ago when the phrase culture wars
was not really understood. We were beginning to see traditional America being attacked from 360 degrees in
the classic envelopment. A lot of folks can look back now and see how they milked American's housing equity
into the consumer economy in a wealth transfer on a bigger scale than Bernie Madoff was pulling off. They
pitted blacks against whites, illegal immigrants against legal residents, Jews against non-Jews, Dems
against Repubs...all the infighting and divide and conquer confusion they could cause while they picked
our pockets.
GHC has long pleaded our constant mantra of 'Wake up America'...because
we know that unless intense pressure is put on our political system to be responsible for utter failure the
elites are obviously going to win the big fight. We diversified from our public entry issue of Southern
Heritage and the Flag Fight because the barns were burning down around us when we came into this.
We helped to remove a few complete phonies and hucksters like
Roy Barnes and Ralph Reed, but we also tasted getting someone like Sonny Perdue in exchange who
immediately hooked up with the elitists after he was elected.
And while the good citizens
were fighting the wildfires, the Freddie Macs and Fannie Maes, mortgage brokers, investment bankers, Bernie
Madoffs, and our corrupt Congress were cleaning out our houses. None of them saw themselves as the tipping
point players that would take the country down. They did not see that everyone was doing it, who
could, and the cumulative result of their combined efforts was a given. All those predicting the coming
crash were tarred and feathered as 'bad attitude' types.
We are faced now basically with a situation where those
(the real players, not the musical chair people like Obama) who are in charge of fixing the crisis were
the ones who caused it.
Despite the change
in administrations we did see our best and brightest, led by our treasury secretary, shovel a pile
of money out to the banks with few real oversight controls. Instead of lending it out to head off the
credit crunch they just stashed it away to make sure that their butts were still around after the
recession or depression. So much for honor among elite buddies. Now we are being primed once again
that the stimulus money must go out quickly and we are supposed to trust the Marx brothers with
oversight again.
So if you have any fond affection for your behinds I suggest
to you that now is really the time to prove it as you may not get another chance. We have made references
over the past few years that the clock was getting late in the day on trying to turn this thing around,
and the longer it was put off the more painful it would be. Well, we are there now. Whatever powder
you have left, be careful to place it where it will count the most. We will try to assist in
pinpointing where the key systemic problems are, which if we don't fix, nothing else that is
done will really matter.
America needs a surge back here at home. The War on Terror
will not be won or lost overseas, but right here at home. We would appreciate your help, financial and
infowise, as we will all be going together, however this turns out.
Pelosi and Harry Reid stripped
the
E-verify
renewal out of the stimulus bill that was rushed though. That is why the Repubs were kept out of the meeting and the
final version was voted on without anyone really reading it, despite the promise of 48 hours to review
the final draft. Obama wanted to sign it on Presidents Day.
The donation support that ACORN lost due
to their coruption exposure last year was replaced with $2 billion in 'community development'
funding. This shows the contempt the new folks in charge have for the citizens. The only change
that is coming on the culure wars, folks, is.... to speed up the process.

Feds Plan 'Surge' if Mexico Drug Violence Spills Into U.S.
EL PASO, Texas — If Mexican drug violence spills across the U.S. border, Homeland Security officials say they have a contingency plan to assist border areas that includes bringing in the military.
"It's a common sense extension of our continued work with our state, local, and tribal partners in securing the southwest border," DHS spokeswoman Amy Kudwa said Friday.
Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, who described the contingency plan in an interview with The New York Times this week, said he ordered specific plans to be drawn up this summer as violence in Mexico continued to mount.
The plan includes federal homeland security agents helping local authorities and maybe even military assistance from the Department of Defense, possibly including aircraft, armored vehicles and special teams to=2 0go to areas overwhelmed with violence, authorities said.Kudwa would not give specifics on the so-called "surge" plan, but said it does not create any new authorities.
In the last year, more than 5,000 people have been killed and police and military officials have become common targets for violent drug cartels who are fighting with each other and the government for control of lucrative drug and human smuggling routes across Mexico.More than one-fifth of the deaths have occurred in Ciudad Juarez, the hardscrabble border city just across the Rio Grande from El Paso.Officials in Mexico reported about 1,600 homicides in Juarez in 2007 and at least 20 people have been killed in the first nine days of this year.
To date, there has been no significant violent spillover from the drug war in Mexico, but U.S. authorities have spent a tense year watching and waiting.
In October, Hidalgo County officials issued fully automatic weapons to deputies patrolling the river in the Rio Grande Valley. Sheriff Lupe Trevino also authorized his deputies to return fire across the border if smugglers or other criminals took aim at them.
In El Paso, the country's largest border community and one of the safest metropolitan areas in the nation, Sheriff Richard Wiles said that while he doesn't anticipate the city or county being overwhelmed by border violence he applauded the DHS plan to quickly respond if the worst should happen.
"I think it's appropriate for the federal government to have a contingency plan all the way up to the worst case scenario," Wiles said. The contingency plan was news to most border states.
"At this point, DHS has not contacted the California National Guard to bring any forces ... to support first responders, i.e. (U.S.) Border Patrol, at the border in California," California National Guard spokesman Jonathan Guibord said Friday.
He said National Guard officials in California know only "what's been publicized" about the plan, but added that state military officials routinely train and prepare to respond to any order from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger or the president.
Katherine Cesinger, a spokeswoman for Texas Gov. Rick Perry, said Texas officials were briefed on the plan but were not consulted beforehand about a plan to fight Mexican drug cartels on the 2,000-mile U.S. border, more than half of which is in Texas.Cesinger said the state has its own specific security plans for each area of the Texas border should violence from Mexico become an issue. She declined to give specifics of those plans.
Officials with New Mexico's Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management said they are in constant contact with federal Homeland Security officials but weren't aware of any specific security plan that could include Department of Defense assets."We haven't seen a specific operational plan for a specific region or specific threat. The use of Defense Department resources ... would have to be an extreme situation," said Tim Manning, the New Mexico Homeland Security director.
Homeland Security officials did not respond to questions about which local or state agencies were notified about the surge plan.
