The Devil in the Overview
-- Commentary by Jim Dean 5/19/2010
"I have not had a chance to. I've glanced at it. I have not read it." --Attorney General Eric Holder, explaining his false assertions on the Arizona immigration law
Dear folks,
America reached a new low this week with Attorney General Eric Holder admitting in Congressional testimony that he had only 'glanced' at
the Arizona new immigration law, and not really read it (17 pages printed out). He amazingly added, 'I have not been briefed'.
But during the prior week he had already been making statements about 'racial profiling' and that the Justice Department was considering
action to have it overturned. I thought I was shock proof. But I was wrong. So Holder got his hand caught in the political cookie jar.
He was planning to attack the bill for political reasons without even reading it and really knowing it's contents.
For the nation's top law enforcement officer this is a breach of his oath of office that runs off the scale...enough that he should
resign, but he won't. People who get caught with the hand in the cookie jar these days don't resign. They just trot out their trusty
'racism' or 'racial profiling' , 'social justice' or 'witch hunt' goobledygook and that is supposed to wash them clean. The liars now
seem to reign supreme.
But Holder is going to find that the stain will remain. He has dishonored the office. But he is not the first by any means. Republicans
joined him in their own disgrace as they have been the right hand that has worked with the left to create the unbridled illegal
immigration disaster that we have. And they also did that for political reasons, getting greased by the business pro illegal immigration
lobby with the Chamber of Commerce leading the way.
We need to find a way to get rid of both of them. The phrase for that is remove incumbents. It looks like the Dems will take a beating
this fall and maybe lose both the House and the Senate. But don't get your hopes up as the pro illegal immigration lobby will just
shift their funding over to the Repubs, particularly the leadership and committee chairman to put the fix in.
If Harry Reid gets the bump but the Dems still hold the Senate we will probably have Israel's Senator Chuck "Shomer' Schumer as
leader. 1 Congressional leadership can almost totally neutralize any
conflicting attitudes of newly elected Congressmen.
John McCain is back-pedaling as fast as he can to re-invent himself as a border security man. But he is the paragon of ethics
who dumped his tried and true military wife for a bootlegger heiress who could fund his political aspirations.
McCain has given the cold shoulder to the USS Liberty survivors who were attacked by Israel (1967 war), so as not to offend his
Jewish Lobby supporters and expose his father Admiral McCain for rigging the naval inquiry.2
This was literally leaving
their dead and wounded on the field in order to keep the Israelis happy, one of the greatest acts of perfidy in American military history.
And after courting the Southern heritage vote in South Carolina, McCain told folks in later primaries he only endorsed those issues
just to get our vote at the time. He lied, and later got the Repub Presidential nomination. Welcome to 'survival of the least fit.'
Folks, the term 'broken government' is popping up more and more in our contemporary political dialogue. The elites are still trying to
save themselves with their usual tactic of rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. But what we really need is a new ship, one where we
leave them behind on a deserted island.
But to accomplish this will require coalition building, and they are betting that we can never do that because we are so
uncompromising. For example Arizonans are 70% in support of their new immigration law and yet a nationally organized financial boycott
attack is being organized against them in the middle of a recession. If only 51% of Arizonans had supported it, what chance of survival
do you think they would have now?
So if we are going to turn this thing around and run the scoundrels out we are going to need substantial majorities to do that,
something on which I have found over the years our folks seem to be tone deaf. They just ignore the reality.
The military is not awaiting our orders for a coup. We will have to win support, primarily from the independents, or it will never
happen. It's look in the mirror time for us all. Do we want to go for broke and go down in flames if we lose, or make sure we
save what is most important to us? It will not be an easy process, but then...neither is losing everything.
FOOTNOTES:
(1) Schumer was a guest on a Jewish radio program in New York and said,
"You know, my name .... comes from the word shomer, guardian, watcher. My ancestors were guardians of the ghetto wall in
Chortkov. And I believe Hashem (God) actually gave me that name. One of my roles, very important in the United States senate, is to
be a shomer — to be a or the shomer Yisrael. And I will continue to be that with every bone in my body ... "
(Folks, you just can't make this stuff up....jim dean)
(2) Admiral McCain's rigging of the USS Liberty is not a charge or a claim by me. It is archival fact. The Navy JAG officer refused
to endorse the naval inquiry finding of an 'accident' because 'there was nothing in the court record to substantiate this conclusion'.
Against Navy regulations his required signature was just dispensed with. Captain Ward Boston went public with this before he died in
2002, God rest his soul. ifamericansknew.org/us_ints/ul-bostondies.html

In television interviews over the weekend, Attorney General Eric Holder warned that Arizona's new anti-illegal immigration law could lead
to racial profiling and might prompt Latinos to stop cooperating with police. However, it emerged at a House hearing Thursday that Holder
hasn't actually read the statute.
"I have not had a chance to. I've glanced at it. I have not read it," Holder acknowledged in response to questions from Rep. Ted
Poe (R-Texas).
"It's ten pages. It's a lot shorter than the health care bill, which was 2,000 pages long. I'll give you my copy of it, if you would
like to -- to have a copy," Poe quipped during the House Judiciary Committee oversight hearing.
The Arizona law passed last month calls for checks on individuals' immigration status after any "lawful contact" with police if there
is reasonable suspicion they're not legally in the country. President Barack Obama, Holder and other administration officials have
expressed concern that the law could lead to Americans of Hispanic descent being stopped by police. Latino groups are organizing boycotts
of the state.
"The concern I have about the law that they have passed is that I think it has the possibility of leading to racial profiling and putting
a wedge between law enforcement and a community that would, in fact, be profiled," Holder said Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press." "People
in that community are less likely then to cooperate with people in law enforcement, less likely to share information, less likely to be
witnesses in a case that law enforcement is trying to solve."
Holder said Thursday he's asked a team of advisers from Justice and the Department of Homeland Security to review the law for him. He
said he expects to issue a pronouncement on the Arizona law "relatively soon."
