Gradual Changes Good for Better Relations, by J. A. Davis
It's coming slow but not without notice. There is a slowly developing crack in the wall of the professional race
profiteers' monopoly on the black community in Georgia. Call it a rebellion or secession from the long-standing and sometimes corrupt leadership of
the past.
Several visible developments are taking place as each day passes. There is a large movement of new leadership
bucking the tired old iron curtain that has for too long prevented the advancement of a more vibrant and independent movement toward mainstream
America.
Examples: 15,000 serious minded people rallied in support of a Constitutional Amendment on gay
marriage in Atlanta. Virtually every voice of the 'monopoly of the past' has condemned this secession from the hold they have profited from for
more than forty years. The marchers in Atlanta were not speaking out against gays as much as they were speaking out against the so-called leaders who
purported to speak for them on the issues of homosexuality and marriage. Julian Bond and others have labeled homosexual issues as 'civil rights' issues.
The shake down artists such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are coming under a serious decline as more and
more astute black observers are discovering new and more plausible ways to advocate equality and justice for all.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, which has been the catalyst and enabler for various forms of race baiting and profiteering,
is being exposed for the erroneous and defaming propaganda they
have for years successfully foisted on law enforcement and (sometimes willing) media entities for distribution.
The downtown Atlanta business community which has willingly
participated in the shakedowns with huge payoffs is now coming under scrutiny by
their own shareholders, but more importantly, by their customers.
The Black Caucus in the Georgia legislature has been the powerful
difference on the outcome of many issues in the past. The recent election has removed their party from all
leadership positions as it and they are now the minority in both houses.
Their own party
has finally come to to the realization their downfall has centered around an entitlement agenda of promoting racial favoritism
over reasonable and acceptable solutions for all Georgians. The good news is that the Democratic party, as shattered as
it has become, will now have a caucus of non-urban representatives dedicated to taking their party back to mainstream Georgia.
Wrongheaded thinking seems to be waning in favor of a more balanced and
practical approach. Georgia had more balanced thinking in the turbulent sixties when great strides were made in civil rights and
the opening for opportunity for all Georgians. Much of Georgia's dynamic growth and progress was made by a coalition of all
citizens working toward mutual goals. While other areas North and South suffered devastating disruptions, Georgia
proceeded with progress and healthy growth. All citizens gained.
During that fruitful era there was no public disparagement of one another and no
thought of criticizing or condemning the history, heritage, symbols or well-being of any segment of the
magnificent people of all stations that took Georgia forward.
With so much accomplished, the professional racists stepped up their
efforts to keep their money rolling in. The people were inflamed with mistrust and even fear and hatred through shameless demagoguery and
contrived issues like Southern flags and symbols. Since the more recent 'scare-mongering' began, there has been no real improvement in condition or race relations. Quite
the contrary, the demagoguery of the heritage-haters only promoted divisiveness and growing resentments.
The once effective NAACP has undergone a transformation from the nineties into what virtually anyone
knowledgeable has recognized as a left-wing arm of a major political party. So much so, the Internal Revenue Service has opened a full scale
investigation into the NAACP's partisan political activism prohibited by its tax status... which has led to the departure of their president and more internal disruptions.
Many in the public have lost confidence in the
NAACP and properly recognize it as a vehicle for un-American and frequently Marxist thinking. According to Armstrong Williams, Mfume was fired for differences
with NAACP board Chairman Julian Bond who apparently plans to continue a radical course rather than moderating back into mainstream politics.
Picture yourself as a typical Black American as some like to be called. Some say people of other colors can't
"think black." We can think 'American' and we welcome all those that feel similarly, regardless of their color. It is encouraging to see the grass roots
black community beginning to join the mainstream. It is even more encouraging to see new leaders and thinkers (see Cosby, Williams & Elder links below) emerge and push
off the yoke of victimhood and divisiveness that has been the prevailing mantra for too long.
A large majority of blacks in Georgia and throughout the South share the same true
history and heritage as the rest of us. The Golden Rule makes obvious that they should be treated fairly to bring about full reconciliation with all who are
genuinely interested in unity and the Constitutional Republic.
We welcome the participation of Georgia's black citizens who are willing to stand up
and speak up for the precious truth about the core principles that The Founders envisioned. We're all endowed by our Creator with certain rights... Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness....these things presume
personal responsibility and they are not to be found in government programs, affirmative action (legalized discrimination) or perpetual 'victimology.' We support those who
are courageous in their pursuit of the real freedoms and opportunities of the 21st century.
