Citizens Will Arise, But When? by J. A. Davis
"The principal for which we contend is bound to reassert itself, though it may
be at another time and in another form." ---Jefferson Davis
"Though written constitutions may be violated in moments of passion or delusion, yet
they furnish a text to which those who are watchful may again rally and recall the people. They fix, too, for the
people the principles of their political creed." ---Thomas Jefferson
In the wake of the disasters created by
Katrina and a number of lesser noticed departures from American liberty,
there is a sentiment of change beginning to become more evident in the
thinking of some of the watchful citizens.
Anyone who questions this has only to look at the confidence level the
people place in the government and elected officials at all levels.
Traditionally, American voters have criticized their politicians but
continue to return their own local lawmakers to office. This seems to be changing as more and more information becomes
available to those citizens who care.
Here in Georgia, we have two
U. S. Senators who have carefully tried to
obscure voting records with a lot of Beltway jargon as to why they
support such things as legalizing millions of illegal
aliens or why they vote millions to put a highway bridge to connect
fifty, yes, 50 people in Alaska to mainstream highways.
Meanwhile, upgrading levees in New Orleans was passed over again.
They dance around why we have the biggest pork barrel spending in
history. They carefully ignore a trade deficit they continually help to grow. The trade and treasury deficits are at
perilous levels. Politicians are pandering to special interests who are profiting
greatly while the nation is heading for a serious
bubble burst and inflation we haven't seen
since the sixties.
Now we face new problems with the largest port for wheat and sugar
among other commodities out of business for God only knows how long. Oil is
affected and some needed refineries are disabled for an unknown period.
Those who estimate high billions in displaced revenues are woefully
inept. Before the numbers are totaled, trillions will
be involved. Our economy can't handle it as we're presently structured.
The people are losing confidence in Homeland Security with good reason.
The U. S. media has presented some of the details of failure after
failure during and after Katrina. Few read the coverage by the world-wide media which is much more descriptive of
what is really happening, or unfortunately, not happening.
But our elected officials are working overtime telling us what a great
job FEMA and Homeland Security are doing. There will be investigations and maybe some truth will come out. It's
a little late for what now appears to be multiple thousands of deaths in Louisiana,
Mississippi and Alabama. Injuries and disease could hit in the millions.
The property loss and loss of functioning businesses and jobs is at
this time beyond reasonable estimates. We know when such a large part of the economy
becomes totally idle for any protracted period, huge hardships become
prevalent. It will have a serious effect on us all.
There is great dissatisfaction throughout the nation over the
multiculturism being actively promoted by the politicians pandering to
special interest groups which
include selfish business groups who actively advocate the diminishment
of American culture, the eradication of traditional history and the
promotion of the use of languages other than English.
The people are beginning to speak out about the gansta mentality being
foisted on our young people. Those who think this new wave of thinking
is isolated to the criminals in New Orleans better check their own neighborhoods.
It's a sad commentary. You will not find the solutions in the current
political leadership in either major party. They've all been enablers
while appearing to oppose it all. Their records which too few people pay attention to, expose them and their
attempts to mislead the people.
The people are beginning to awaken to that dampness on their legs. If
enough get fed up enough, they'll send them all
packing and keep doing it until we find some people who truly believe in
maintaining the Constitution as it is written.
What we need now is people willing to go
into office to repeal the laws, regulations
and attitudes that deprive the liberty we
so desperately need to recover to save this country. In my mind, it is
that serious.
A revolution of the citizens is coming.
Just when and in what form is the question. We can do better and most
of us who have been through great tests of our resolve like The Great Depression,
World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, and Recessions among many natural crises,
know it. The question to the younger generations is:
Are you mad enough yet?
