Chambliss Has To Go - Commentary by J. A. Davis
"Some men change their party for the sake of their principles; others their principles for
the sake of their party."" ---Winston Churchill
"...Political language ... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to
give an appearance of solidity to pure wind." ---George Orwell, [from "Politics and the English Language, Shooting an Elephant," 1950].
We now are facing what appears to be a protracted debate in the U. S.
Senate over amnesty for illegal aliens.
Party power came into play as a number of Senators on both sides of the
aisle followed the love fest developed by the leadership of both major
parties. It indelibly affirms there is little or no difference between
the two major parties today.
The fight is far from over. For instance, if only 10 senators had voted
for principles they continually enunciate, the Kennedy, Chambliss, Isakson, et al, hoax would have ended where it belongs, in the trash
heap of history.
"Though written constitutions may be violated in moments of passion or delusion, yet they furnish a text to which those who are
watchful may again rally and recall the people. They fix, too, for the people the principles of their political
creed." ---Thomas Jefferson
Patriotic Americans who support the original Constitution need not give
up at this juncture. To the contrary, with enough public heat there is still hope the
public focus during the debate will change some minds. It is quite
possible to make some desirable changes that can send a more sensible act to the House, to further
implement the will of the people. Better said, the oft forgotten
phrase, "the consent of the governed."
This does not obviate the fact that Georgia has two Senators that constantly
take a public stance that sounds very much like they oppose amnesty for
illegal aliens, only to vote exactly the opposite. They both need to go, but the nearest target is Saxby Chambliss, who will soon
be campaigning full time for re-election.
We would like to see a strong, real conservative, develop for a primary
contest where it is possible Chamliss can be eliminated. Then, there is always the
hope that the other party might find someone beyond the special
interests that control them, who could be a glimmer of hope that there
could be once again a two party system. That was once a grand idea
that they abandoned in attempting to serve special interests including
those who invade our borders and those who benefit financially from cheap labor.
Don't hold your breath hoping and waiting.
You may be working under an illusion known as unrealized expectations.
Nonetheless, at this crucial point in American liberty, any positive
turn is worthy of consideration.
There is a movement gaining momentum to fire them all and start from a
clean slate. That's more easily said than done since the diminishing
percentages that vote these days have a penchant for returning their
local Representatives and Senators despite atrocious voting records that
totally disregard the Constitution.
Making it even more difficult is the money.
Does anyone see the whole plan for selection of U. S. Senators got totally flawed with the
Seventeenth
Amendment? The change put the election in the hands of the money interests and away from the
legislatures of the states where local people responsible to the local
electorate determined who should be in the Senate.
If you want to take the time, the Southern Party of Georgia just
published a five page listing of the money that has flowed into Saxby
Chambliss' coffers since he began listing contributions. It is sickening. Long lists of big money from the same sources, mostly the
big Agra, Pharma, military, banking complex.
These are the very same people who president Eisenhower warned about in
1960 as he was leaving office. Remember, the military, industrial complex?
We ordinary citizens have no clout like these well oiled special
interests except in one often unfamiliar place in which we need to re-orient and re-focus ourselves, the ballot box.
The question remains, will we?
The next time some disoriented converted
Republican tells you he or she is
conservative,
have some fun. Agree.
"Of course you are, just like
George Bush,
Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson.
You must be proud of yourself and your party."
It almost makes me cry to think of the great Georgia patriots I worked
with years ago to give us a new breath of liberty in public governance. We built the Georgia
Republican party on a solid basis. It has been invaded and surrendered to political aliens who are no more
constitutionalists than the failed leftist parties from whence they came. They deserve no amnesty either.
Do you smell the tamales?
