Tyrone Brooks: A Dangerous Anachronism – by Frank Conner
The AJC article, "Racial
killings restaged today," by Jeffry Scott, says that black state
Rep. Tyrone
Brooks intends to stage "a reenactment of the 1946 Moore's Ford murders of four black people by a mob of
white people on the banks of the Apalachee River in Walton County near Monroe." This reenactment on the spot is
obviously intended primarily as a media event--to saturate the TV-news programs and reverberate in the newspapers
thereafter.
Rep. Brooks is one of Georgia's leading civil-rights activists. For the past 20-odd years
he has successfully led the fight to discredit and suppress the public display of the remaining symbols of the
Confederacy (including the battle-flag emblem in the 1956 Georgia state flag), on the grounds that any reference to
the Confederacy reminds all blacks of slavery and thereby causes them great and lasting emotional damage, because
their great-great-great-great grandparents might have been slaves.
Yet many of the same black activists who are working to bury the South's Confederate
heritage because they say it reminds them of slavery, are also demanding that additional slavery-museums and
civil-rights museums be opened across the South. And now Rep. Brooks is restaging the murder of four blacks by
whites in 1946 for the mass media.
Not only is this reenactment a prime example of the typical blatant use of the double
standard by the black activists, it is also a prime example of racial hate-mongering, pure and simple. Today's FBI
crime-statistics demonstrate clearly that for the past four decades, it has NOT been the evil whites who
preponderantly robbed, maimed, or slaughtered innocent blacks; it HAS been the evil blacks who preponderantly robbed,
maimed, or slaughtered innocent blacks and whites. Yet the black activists never publicly denounce those black
criminals. For example, I have not heard Rep. Brooks demand the maximum punishment for the black hoodlums who
recently fired a bottle rocket into the cab of a tanker truck driving down the road, almost putting out one of the
eyes of the white driver, and then danced a victory dance atop the overturned truck, and then beat up the injured
driver still further.
The black activists--having long since reached their legitimate objectives--cannot now
let go and redirect their efforts, to attack the worst problem facing the black race: its current 70% illegitimacy
rate, which has nothing to do with slavery or economics, and everything to do with morals and personal values. Because
the black activists are unwilling or unable to provide any real leadership to their own race, they stay locked in their
1960s time-warp, and (with the aid of the liberal media) they continue to attack the white conservatives--who are not
the cause of their present problems--by stirring up unnecessary racial-hatred among the blacks. And the inescapable
bottom-line of the black activists' outdated approach is that those blacks who view themselves as victims necessarily
also view themselves as losers.
